(Guardian University Guide, 2021).**Course details**The First Year of BSc Economics is designed to give you flexibility in choosing your further course of study. If you find yourself less interested in mathematical modelling and statistics, you can switch to our BSc Economics and Management course, which provides training in both Economics and Management and has less technical content.• Year 1 – You will study key principles of Economics and learn to apply them to a wide variety of real-life problems. You will start learning appropriate mathematical and statistical techniques, and gain a foundation in business by studying several modules outside Economics.• Year 2 – You will develop a good understanding of economic theories and business strategies. In addition, you will learn to perform data analysis using quantitative methods and computing techniques. The modules will lay a solid foundation towards your final year studies. Subject areas include Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Econometrics.• Year 3 – This is when you will undertake a professional placement or choose an international study opportunity at one of our partner institutions. This year is compulsory for all UK students.• Year 4 - The final year continues with deepening your knowledge of economic theories and advanced quantitative techniques, with a strong emphasis on their application in a diverse range of international settings. Subject areas include International Trade, Behavioural Economics, Environmental Economics and Economics of Entrepreneurship.
