Bachelors Arabic and Middle East Studies
The Arabic and Middle East Studies major includes foreign language courses and those highlighting Middle East politics and culture. The importance of the Middle East in world affairs has grown in the past decade, and so has the need for workers who are trained in Arabic language and culture. Courses include:
Many graduates find jobs in journalism, international business and industry, government and foreign service. Others find jobs in translating, interpreting or consulting. A number of students have also gone on to complete graduate studies in similar areas.
Students are encouraged to study abroad. Arabic and Middle East Studies majors have a unique opportunity to study abroad at the American University in Cairo or Al Akhawayn University in Morocco.
