At Buckinghamshire New University we also have great links with sports organisations – for example, we’re a Swim England National Performance Centre.**What facilities can I use?**Whilst studying with us you can take advantage of our extensive sports facilities and activities. A wide range of sports and fitness classes take place in our large, versatile sports space on our High Wycombe Campus. Stretch and relax at Fitness Pilates, work your muscles with Reps and Sets, or squeeze in a quick H.I.I.T workout.The sports hall has a sprung floor that reduces the impact on ankle, knee and hip joints, and the space can be split so that several activities can take place at once. Specialist matting is available for activities such as judo and cheerleading.**What will I study?**Throughout the course, you’ll learn the theory behind key aspects of sport coaching. Then you’ll put that knowledge to use in practical work.We’ve developed a range of modules to cover topics across every aspect of coaching. Learn about energy and nutrition, biomechanics, even psychology.You’ll study core topics across the two years. Then in your second year, you’ll have the choice between child development and learning and applied strength and conditioning. This will help you to specialise further, depending on what sort of career you’re interested in.**How will I be taught and assessed?**We’ve kept the course varied, with a mixture of practical and academic work. Some classes might need you to build up a portfolio, while others will involve essays or group presentations. You can submit work online, so the course is ideal if you want to work or focus on your performance while finishing off your studies.
