You can also work with designers in and around the capital, gaining experience in how to adapt to the challenges of working in a business.We were recently selected as one of only five UK institutions to take part in the UK Fashion and Textile Association’s (UKFT) ‘MADE IT’ programme, 20/21.**What facilities can I use?**You'll be working on industry standard equipment, learning latest techniques and future focused methods of fashion craftsmanship. You will master materials, both through traditional methods and using digital software.Here you will be able to design, create and get inspired with not only your own workspace, but also our range of equipment which can help you craft your garments in almost any medium you like.In our workshops, you’ll receive one-to-one teaching, working closely with lecturers, specialist technicians and alongside fellow students.**What will I study?**At the core of the BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles course you can find creativity, innovative thinking and an exploration of contemporary approaches to the creation of textiles for fashion.You'll explore many areas within the fashion and textiles industry, including colour, materials, pattern, structure and composition. Alongside this you will be supported as you develop your individual strengths, building a small collection and portfolio to launch you into the design industry on graduation.**How will I be taught and assessed?**This course is offered as a four-year programme, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree.This course is 75% practice-based so you will have ample opportunity to develop your subject through a hands-on, experimental approach. You’ll get to enjoy a friendly, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
