BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism
Course Overview
Our Multimedia Journalism degree is the perfect place to launch your future in the media. Because for all that you’re passionate about, we’re passionate too. We want to help the next generation of young journalists – and develop your talents in television and radio, websites and social media, newspapers and magazines.
What you’ll study
Whether it’s the coronavirus pandemic, the fight for racial equality or Britain’s future outside the EU, we’ll work with you to explore the news agenda in practice and in theory.
Maybe you’re the next Laura Kuenssberg. Or perhaps you want to be a football reporter. Or you might have designs on writing about fashion?
We’ve got industry experts to help guide you through your degree. They’ll be supported by guest lecturers and speakers and they’ll lead you on educational visits. But best of all, you’ll get to DO journalism. Lots of it. We’ve got cutting edge equipment and state-of-the-art technology.
A collection of skills
Studying journalism at Bucks, you’ll:
- Learn writing, interviewing, filming, recording and editing – reporting and presenting on different platforms.
- Explore different specialisms and your own interests to find the right career path.
- Build a portfolio of work to boost your chances of finding your dream job.
You’ll also study law and ethics and learn how the media reports news as well as politics, business, economics, fashion, health, entertainment and sport. You’ll learn how the media interacts with governments and people, exploring issues like “fake news” and power, truth and citizen journalism. And you can explore a topic you’re passionate about in your final year dissertation.
