BA (Hons) Graphic Design (Illustration)
Graphic Design (Illustration) at De Montfort University covers a variety of image-making techniques, including drawing, printmaking, animation, visual problem solving and digitally produced imagery, giving you the opportunity to go into a wide range of careers in animation, illustration and graphic design. The course will develop you into a creative designer, building up a portfolio of knowledge and skills in visual communication within printmaking, photography, typography, illustration, animation and creative writing. You will have the opportunity to undertake live design briefs from industry and participate in national and international competitions such as the D&AD, YCN, RSA, MacMillan, Batsford, Penguin, Starpack and House of Illustration Awards. The experience you gain on the course will allow you to develop to become a successful illustrator in a rapidly-¬changing commercial environment. 89.5% of our Graphic Design (Illustration) graduates from summer 2017 are in work or further study after graduating according to the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) 2016-17 report, and the course had 100% overall satisfaction, based on the National Student Survey 2018.
