Therapeutic radiographers are highly skilled caring professionals who have an essential role in the treatment of patients with cancer. GCU is the largest provider of therapeutic radiography education in Scotland. The teaching team work closely with practice colleagues in the NHS and with their professional body to ensure the programme is relevant and up-to-date. Practice placements take place at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow, the largest cancer centre in Scotland and one of the larger centres in the UK, Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Completion of an honours degree in Radiotherapy and Oncology leads to eligibility to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, and membership of the Society of Radiographers.
