The course provides preparation for the academic skills required for degree level study, delivering the opportunity to develop the questioning and analytical skills required for progression in your chosen business subject. After you have completed your Business Foundation Year, you can progress on to studying at degree level.**Start Dates**We offer a September and January entry point onto this course. (Applicant information for January 2022 entry can be found on the 2021/2022 pages.)The closing date for applications to the September 2022 entry point is the 15th January (unless otherwise stipulated) and the closing date for applications for the January 2023 entry point is the 20th December 2022. Please note that the January start point runs in a compressed time-frame (January to July) but without loss of teaching weeks or acceleration of teaching and content delivery. Our programme explores key themes around accountancy, which may include: organisational behaviour, financial and management accounting, operations and quality management, audit and business strategy.Core modules, such as financial and management accounting, organisational behaviour, operations and quality management, audit, and business strategy, may be supported with options, such as, marketing, business law, economics, taxation, and international finance. This will allow you to explore new and different areas of study.Our computer laboratories are equipped with industry-leading software such as Bloomberg, STATA, Thomson Reuters and Sage Accounting Software, providing you with an opportunity to gain valuable practical IT experience. You may also be able to complement this practical experience, by opting for a placement year, an international year or an entrepreneurship year, between your second and third year of study.
