Studying this popular combination allows you to study the human mind and behaviour, gain an understanding of crime, criminals, and how society defines and responds to them. You will graduate with a Psychology degree accredited by the British Psychological Society, plus in-depth knowledge of Criminology. This combination is ideal for students wishing to study the relationship between human behaviour and the social context and structures in which crime, harm and victimisation occur.Criminology is broadly concerned with how crime and deviance are understood, the efforts made to control crime, and the consequences of crime for offenders, victims and society. Psychology is a large and varied discipline dealing with the systematic investigation of mind and behaviour. You will learn about the social, legal and historical construction of crime and ‘deviance’ alongside psychological aspects of behaviour concerning individual differences, social, developmental, cognitive and biological perspectives.
