LLM Construction Law and Dispute Resolution

COURSE OVERVIEW

Specifically aimed at those who already hold an LLB degree or equivalent qualification, this course will enhance your ability to manage and resolve disputes efficiently.

You will study areas including Principles of Construction Law, Approaches to Dispute Resolution (including arbitration, adjudication and mediation), and Construction Claims.

The structure and content of our teaching meets the examination requirements of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators on each of its pathways to membership - Arbitration, International Arbitration and Construction Adjudication - from Associate level through to Fellowship level.

We also offer an MSc version of this course, ideal if you come from a surveying or construction background.

LLM Construction Law & Dispute Resolution

Your LLB degree will provide you with exemption from Law of Obligations. You will study the five core modules listed, plus the Dissertation, and you will also select two option modules from the list.

TEACHING & LEARNING

Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study. Our subject-specific librarians will be on hand to direct you to the specialist learning and study-skill resources. You’ll also be assigned an academic advisor to give you tailored feedback and support.
