BSc (Hons) Psychology (Criminology)

Psychology gives you a fascinating insight into the factors that influence how people think, feel and behave. Understanding the problem of crime, criminal justice policy and the place of crime in contemporary society will be enriched by your coverage of core areas of psychology. There is also the opportunity to undertake a psychology research project in your third year, where you will gain invaluable experience of social scientific research methods.

This course integrates core areas of psychological knowledge, giving you a deep understanding of the subject. Taught with an applied focus, it will also help you apply your learning in the real world to make a difference to people's lives.

Our degrees are accredited by the British Psychology Society (BPS). This meets the requirements for Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR). With GBR, you can undertake Masters/Doctoral level study leading to Chartered Membership of the BPS. You’ll need at least a Lower Second Honours degree to be eligible for GBR.

As well as enhancing your understanding of human behaviour and thought processes, this course will help you become a more persuasive communicator - a desirable skill for employers. To help you develop your employability, we’ll set you up at the start of the course with a Personal Development Plan (PDP) to monitor your progress and set study objectives and career goals.
