EngD Skills, Technology, Research and Management for the UK Water Sector (STREAM)
The Skills, Technology, Research and Management for the UK Water Sector (STREAM) EngD is a combination of research and industrial training. Through your research you will have the opportunity to evolve techniques to tackle today's water sector challenges such as climate change, increasing populations, energy efficiency, and pollution control.
This specialist programme is a four year research degree awarded for industrially relevant research. Compared to a PhD, this programme provides a more vocationally oriented approach to obtaining a doctorate in engineering The programme is made up of three components:
acquisition of advanced technical skills through attendance at Masters' level training courses
tuition in Transferable Skills and Educational Leadership (TSEL) modules
a doctoral level research project
You will spend the majority of your time in industry developing scientific and engineering techniques and management skills. The scope and topic of your project will vary depending on your subject background, research interests and the company you are working with. You will be allocated at least one academic and one industrial supervisor.
