MEng (Hons) Microelectronic Engineering with Industrial Project
This four-year MEng degree in microelectronic engineering integrates a year of master's-level study and an industrial placement.
Course overview
Your first three years mirror those of our Microelectronic Engineering BEng degree. You study a common curriculum providing core electronic engineering skills, followed by specialist topics such as:
- nanoscale devices
- integrated circuit design
In the fourth year, you complete an industrial placement in the UK or abroad, helping you boost your CV and develop industry contacts. You will develop specialist skills in design capture, simulation and design synthesis techniques.
You complete several design projects to showcase your skills to future employers. For example, designing a wireless USB device.
Teaching methods
You'll learn through a combination of:
- lectures
- lab sessions
- tutorials
Up to 10 hours will consist of practical sessions in our state-of-the-art labs, including experiments and project work.
Your future
