BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence with Placement Year/Study Abroad

As Artificial intelligence (AI) plays an ever-increasing role in helping individuals and organisations deal with new and exciting developments affecting today’s society, our BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence course immerses you in an exciting, innovative environment where you will develop your theoretical and technical knowledge and skills which will be directly relatable to your future career.

You will discover, learn, and master technology that is going to change our relationship with computers forever. From intelligent chatbots that ‘understand’ and communicate just like humans, to uncovering information from Big Data that could predict disease and save lives.

Starting with computer science essentials in your first year, you will become an expert in AI, machine learning, computer vision and evolutionary computation by the time you graduate.

You will study core knowledge in computer programming, algorithms and data structures, data management, cloud computing, as well as key topics in artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics and automation, and machine learning.

Currently, the demand for graduates with AI skills is high. For example, the UK Government recently set up an Office for AI because there is so much demand for its application in society and business.This means that - when you graduate from your BSc in Artificial Intelligence; you will be in high demand from employers and, by studying here, at Northumbria, you will be ready for a cutting-edge career and work on the technology that is destined to change computing forever.

You will have plenty of chances to practice your skills. During the course, you will take part in a business consultancy project, delivering solutions to real-world problems. This can be here in Newcastle or at our partner campus in London.

As well as this, you can opt for an optional year in industry or studying abroad. This can be a great opportunity to develop and enhance your intellectual and professional skills, broadening your overall learning experience.
