Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Technical Studies-Software Development

Students will know a variety of programming languages, they will be able to write and execute code, troubleshoot software applications, and know data structures and computer architecture.

Students will demonstrate collaboration on software development projects using iterative best practices. Students will develop, debug, and test software in multiple programming languages. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the languages, frameworks, and tools used to natively develop mobile applications. Students will develop software using documented programming language procedures.

Career Outlook: The Associate of Applied Science in Technical Studies-Software Development will prepare students for a high wage, high demand technology career. There is strong regional workforce demand for software developers and the curriculum has been developed in consultation with a software development firm. Graduates from the program will have opportunities with local industry partners that have assisted in the development of the program to develop a pipeline into high demand careers.
