MA International Social Welfare and Social Development
In this course you will acquire the skills and knowledge you will need to give your career in international social welfare and social development a global perspective.
Your studies will provide a broad level of understanding by exposing you to a variety of ways in which social welfare and development issues are approached in diverse contexts, including in the Global South.
Overall, the course focuses on social issues with an international dimension and includes topics such as human rights, social justice, human trafficking and humanitarian aid as well as on the intercultural competence and skills needed to work effectively in international contexts.
My Masters was a journey of highs and lows in what proved to be a difficult year for all, however the amazing teaching and support given by my lecturers was outstanding. I was lucky to be part of a group of students who supported each other and were a joy to have shared my classes with. The content and learning of the course has taught me so much and has changed my perceptions of International Social Work, Humanitarian Aid and Forced Migration. I can honestly say I will look back and have happy memories and will always be indebted to the kindness, support and shared learning experienced with my lecturers and fellow students.
