Lead Schools for Secondary School Direct

The course allows you to teach Secondary Business Studies with a focus on your specialism. You will develop your subject knowledge, practical skills and pedagogy in all aspects of science at KS3, whilst also developing your expertise in your preferred discipline of Business Studies at KS4 and KS5 depending on your degree and experience.
The government is planning changes to the NQT transition period from one year to two years. This will be introduced nationally from September 2021. Following the achievement of QTS, therefore, all of you entering into a job as an NQT from September 2021 will be entitled to a 2-year package of on-going training and support. These entitlements are enshrined in the recently published Early Career Framework and the government has promised additional funding and mentoring support for new entrants to the profession who are entitled to this 2-year NQT programme. As a university committed to the on-going training and professional development of new teachers, we are aligning our new Level 7 Masters programmes to the Early Career Framework and would be keen to continue to support schools and NQTs in the next phases of their careers.
