Course overview

Employability is at the heart of this course. During the degree, you will engage with the communication of contemporary global fashion market issues, challenges, opportunities and needs, in creative, collaborative ways through project work leading to presentations, case studies, visual displays of branding, and branding solutions and graphic communication.

You may be introduced to creative graphic communication software and to fundamental principles of graphic design and typographic layout to enable professional production of communication solutions.

You will study a range of fashion-related disciplines, providing theoretical and technical knowledge to develop appropriate and relevant communication solutions for fashion brands and markets.

Teaching methods

The majority of learning is activity-based within studio sessions, plus there are some theory-based seminars and lectures in appropriate settings. You will explore projects cooperatively to mirror the ways in which the profession organises itself.

Assessment

Assessment is via portfolio and project development leading to the creation of creative branding and communication solutions for the fashion industry. Group work and collaboration with fellow students in the Department of Art and Design feature strongly.
