MA Education: Leadership Coaching and Mentoring (Pathway)

Course description

  • We offer an integral and essential step on the path to establishing the professional credibility and status of coaching and mentoring
  • We respect that coaching and mentoring is developmental and not remedial and therefore our provision is supported by values and beliefs akin to coach and mentor education growth and mastery
  • Our emphasis is on aspects of coaching and mentoring as the enabler of learning with reflection on own practice to align with wider professional and organisational necessities
  • You can work voluntarily with UOD Student Mentoring Scheme and receive additional Mentor Training and additional recognition for this outside your studies
  • You can study full-time or part-time, often at weekend workshops, to help you fit around commitments
  • Participants can get Student Affiliate Status with the AC during their studies.

Some of our graduates are already self-employed coaches working at executive level, some are working in leadership and managerial or in HR/OD roles across sectors and some make career moves having shaped their next step through their process of study. Some graduates are working in education, health care and business, and are thinking about how developing coaching behaviours and skills can improve teaching and learning, while others have gone on to implement coaching and mentoring programmes on the basis of what they have learned. Some of our graduates have received national and international recognition for their coaching and mentoring achievements.
