Why BEng Electrical and Electronics Systems Engineering (with placement)?

Our BEng Electrical and Electronics Systems Engineering course explores the principles of engineering as they apply to the practical uses of electricity and the study of charged particles. You’ll learn how take on key challenges of Industry 4.0, looking at the drive to integrate smart factories and the cyber security threats faced by modern industry. Building your knowledge in electronic hardware and systems, you’ll also develop the skills to become a multi-disciplinary engineer and study topics such as sustainable and renewable energy systems. You’ll therefore gain the grounding needed to work in a range of industrial fields and in-demand roles, as you progress in your future career. You’ll benefit from the expertise of our academic team, learn from industry-insiders in guest lectures and gain practical experience through hands-on experiments, using the very latest technology. For example, local companies such as ABB, MOOG, SC Group, Spirax Sarco, Dowty Propellers, Kohler Mira and Total Metal Products Ltd have helped us design our programme and offer potential placement opportunities for our students.
