MSc Strength and Conditioning

The unique MSc Strength and Conditioning integrates the essential aspects of injury prevention with sports nutrition and physical preparation. We emphasise the area of exercise for health, preparing our students to work within the health system. Students are taught by specialist staff in the Centre for Sports Science and Medicine in Sport and Exercise, with support from internationally recognised visiting professionals. You'll gain subject-specific knowledge, enhanced practical and professional skills, and a critical awareness of advances at the forefront of strength and conditioning studies. We're accredited by some of the most respected organisations in the field. In particular, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recognises our master's as a high-quality programme for the NSCA Education Recognition Programme.

You can pursue opportunities in the sports performance and coaching field, or gain positions such as head strength coach, assistant strength coach, strength coach, and sports nutrition advisor. You can also gain roles in the health and fitness industry (advanced programmes and services), performance diagnostics-oriented companies, institutions and laboratories, manufacturers of devices, equipment for training, and testing. Other opportunities include sports nutrition supplements design, oriented research institutions, public authorities, consulting and self-employed businesses, and healthcare companies and institutions.
