FdA Fine Art Practice

The course is aimed at students who want to engage more seriously with working in the creative arts sector or to develop their potential. You will study a blend of practical, theoretical and experiential subjects. The emphasis is on building your confidence and ability by helping you to develop your skills in making, thinking and discussing art. The course is largely practical and is taught by a combination of tutorials, seminars and lectures. Many of the tutors are practicing artists who are also active in exhibiting nationally and internationally. The work-based learning elements ensure there is a real engagement with the actual world of contemporary art practice. 2D processes - exploring a range of 2D media (including skills such as drawing, printmaking and other lens based media). 3D processes - exploring a range of media including skills related to sculpture and glass. Work-based learning modules cover vocational options.
