Social Policy is concerned with the causes of social problems and what local and national governments attempt to do about them. Areas of interest at the School of Social and Political Sciences include poverty and social exclusion, homelessness policy, education, and family policy.This programme is aimed at those with an active interest in such concerns and who wish to hone in on a particular area of interest.The active social policy research base in the School of Social and Political Sciences ensures that staff who teach on this programme are involved in current debates and that students are made aware of new developments and issues in the area.Opportunities for research are available across a range of topics in social and political sciences.
