MSc Sports Therapy

This course aims to prepare students to apply sports science knowledge and principles to the assessment and treatment of injuries within a sporting context. The programme has been developed in collaboration with The Society of Sports Therapists, an accrediting regulatory body for Sports Therapy programmes. The course is designed to develop skills in pitch side first aid and trauma management, clinical injury assessment and competency in planning and implementing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation programmes for a range of sports injuries. The programme is based around core sports therapy modules. As a student you have the opportunity to develop the skills to utilise sports and exercise principles to optimise performance. You have the chance to learn to provide immediate care of injuries and the capability of providing basic life support in a recreational, training and competitive environment. In addition, you can develop the skills to research and apply research findings to sports therapy practice. Sport and Exercise Science programmes at Lincoln benefit specialist facilities, research-active staff and links with practitioners. The School aims to provide students with an ideal environment to enhance their career.

This course is accredited by The Society of Sports Therapists. Career and Personal Development: This programme is designed to support and promote employability, enterprise and entrepreneurship. The course aims to well prepare graduates to gain employment within rehabilitation clinics and independent sports therapy work with sports teams and organisations. Upon successful completion, graduates may be eligible for full membership of The Society of Sports Therapists.
