Bachelor of Science Computer Science - Information Assurance Concentration
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science provides students with a solid background in the fundamentals of computing and prepares them for employment in a wide variety of positions and for graduate study in computer science. The content of the department’s courses is continually monitored to ensure they are consistent with fast-changing developments in the discipline. Courses are offered in the day, evening, and some online sections for the convenience of our students. The information assurance concentration is intended for students who wish to specialize in the security aspects of the computer science field. The concentration focuses on fundamental principles, worked examples, theory, and skills necessary to analyze, design, and construct secure information systems. The courses in this concentration address fundamental technologies, security policy, assurance, and ethics involved in the protection of the information systems. Hands-on experience is gained through numerous programming exercises associated with each course.
