MA Art Education

The Department of Art Education rigorously prepares innovative arts education professionals for a dynamic educational landscape, through critical inquiry, creative research, acts of transformative making, and intersectional perspectives and implications for just and sustainable futures.

The M.A. in Art Education offers three separate options — Advanced Coursework, Museum Education, and Teaching Certification — that empower you to:

  1. Become a more effective advocate for arts education,
  2. Find your voice and renew your passion for teaching,
  3. Become a leader in your district and institution
  4. Cultivate the skills and knowledge to have greater influence when administrators are making decisions, and
  5. Feel more connected to a supportive professional network and learning community.

If you are a certified art teacher and wish to take advanced coursework toward an M.A. degree, be a museum educator, or get certified in K-12 art education in Texas, this degree is for you!
