MFA Studio Art with a Concentration in New Media Art

Through New Media Art, you will focus on our relationship with technology, visual culture and performance in contemporary art. This broad and intensive terminal degree experience focuses on intellectual and creative growth, fostering your practice and preparing you for a lifetime of accomplishment and meaningful contribution as a culture creator. The program frames the individual needs of each student through the development of conceptual, aesthetic and technical skills.

The New Media Art program for the M.F.A. degree in Studio Art integrates creative research, contemporary theory, and studio practice culminating in a solo exhibition.

New Media Arts students integrate the language of art and technology through an informed critical practice that includes the following:

While in the College of Visual Arts and Design, students participate in ideas and methodologies across disciplines while engaging in the critical practice of the fine arts.
