BSc Agricultural and Crop Science

Current environmental challenges mean crop science is a vital subject for now, and our future. There is a growing demand for major food crops and the production of biofuels.

You'll develop your understanding of how crops grow and the management of crops within a commercial setting. You'll get to see current practice around the UK through external visits, guest lectures and the Agronomy Field Course. Understand how crops grow at all levels, from individual plant cells to whole farms. You'll see how growers use crop physiology understanding to inform their management practices and produce higher yields.

Sutton Bonington Campus is home to the University Farm and Dairy Centre. The farm is commercially run, with facilities for research and teaching. Farm staff contribute to the teaching on our degree programmes.
