Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (Honours)

  • Have you ever stopped to think how new suburbs are planned, where the next railway station will pop up or how to balance urban growth and the environment or agriculture or mining? In all these processes, an Urban and Regional Planner has been involved. You can explore town planning with UniSQ’s Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (Honours).
  • As the only university in Queensland that offers a fully online planning qualification, your studies will cover both the Queensland and New South Wales planning legislation and equip you to be an Urban and Regional Planner and designer of the future for cities, regional and rural areas.
  • Develop skills in community consultation, using land and human resources sustainably, planning legislation and processes, economics, transport planning, urban design, plan making, and project management.
  • Study online or on-campus and gain practical experience through a number of residential schools at UniSQ Toowoomba.
  • Chose a research project in your fourth year to investigate a specific urban and regional planning area, which also can provide a pathway for further study and research.
