MSc Financial Technology
Financial Technology (FinTech) combines the theory and knowledge behind capital markets with the technology that makes financial transactions more efficient.
This course teaches the big data techniques, computer programming, and analytics that banks and insurance companies are looking for.
This is a Masters degree that future-proofs graduates and students from a variety of backgrounds and is looking for a career in this area.
Graduates will have a good understanding of the fact that finance is changing, and accounting, business information systems, and analytic methods are adapting to the internet as a delivery channel.
The programme is jointly provided by the departments of Accounting & Finance and Management Science with input from Computer & Information Science.
Assessment
Every class will either have a class test or assignment (e.g. practical team and individual projects) during semesters 1 and 2. Exams will take place at the end of each semester in December and April/May.
