Master of Business Administration

Course summary

Our innovative MBA is designed for passionate recent graduates from any discipline, and business professionals with minimal work experience, who are seeking an intensive, practically-oriented, advanced education in modern business methods and skills.

The pre-experience Westminster MBA has revolutionised this traditional qualification. Adopting a forward-thinking and innovative approach, our MBA will provide you with the knowledge, capabilities and expertise demanded by today’s employers and will prepare you for future jobs in a digital 2020s world. Our MBA graduates will be seeking careers leading to management and leadership roles in either corporates, start-ups or SMEs, but also in the public sector and non-profit organisations.

The Westminster MBA combines innovation, the digital world, contemporary challenges and management complexity, whilst enhancing your ability to gain sought-after soft skills such as resilience, agility, creativity and critical thinking.

This MBA will equip you with a robust understanding of the latest developments in a digitised world, focusing on key areas such as: blockchains, big data, artificial intelligence, cloud technology, AR/VR, disruptive innovations, the growth of ecosystems and the sharing economy.

Combining academic rigour, stimulating teaching approaches and practical business leadership experiences, our MBA programme will support you in becoming part of the next generation of successful business executives and entrepreneurs.

The innovation in our MBA is the unambiguous focus on preparing graduates for the world of work, through a highly practical and experiential programme. The emphasis on capabilities and attributes and the opportunity to apply these capabilities to real business problems will give students direct experience that will enhance their CVs and narrative when applying for new positions. Furthermore, the interaction with companies during the programme, the applied projects and the final internship/project, will directly enhance the prospects for early employability after graduation. By focusing on business-ready skills, we expect a wide range of employers to be interested in our graduates, including corporates, SMEs, start-ups, public sector and not-for-profit organisations.

This MBA is taught in the heart of London close to many of the city’s national, international and global employers. Your employability is enhanced through an internship/project and an international consulting project. The University also provides an excellent careers and development service to support you throughout your studies and beyond graduation.

There is evidence from employers that the rate of change taking place in the business world (particularly from digital disruption) negates the traditional requirement for extensive work experience prior to an MBA. Employability, in this context, requires multi-skilled, digitally-competent graduates, equipped with a sophisticated cross-disciplinary understanding of business and its changing context, who demonstrate attributes aligned with innovation, personal agility, adaptability and resilience. Such graduates can adapt quickly to an employer’s business model or create new enterprises.

Our Careers and Employability Service is here to support you to achieve your full potential.

With a growing network of over 3,000 employers around the world and a team of experienced careers consultants, we provide you with a variety of opportunities to work and develop new skills. As a University of Westminster student, you’ll have access to our services throughout your studies and after you graduate.
