BA (Hons) Social and Public Policy (Ethics and Justice)

A BA in Social and Public Policy (Ethics and Justice) will enable you to understand and improve societal responses to social problems and disadvantage, both nationally and internationally. You'll receive a thorough grounding in core social sciences, including sociology, social psychology, politics and economics and use what you learn to explore why making successful policies is so complex, why patterns of inequality persist and what more can be done to address social problems.

By combining your degree with a minor in Ethics and Justice, you will also explore related foundational issues in ethics and political philosophy. You’ll consider the diversity of human needs and sources of inequality, analyse the social, political and economic context in which they exist, and engage with broader philosophical questions about value and social justice.

On our BA Social and Public Policy (Ethics and Justice) you will receive a broad and introduction to a range of social sciences and training in social research methods. This degree is suited to you if you are interested in the welfare state, inequality, the complexities of making successful policies, and learning to apply sophisticated theoretical knowledge to produce creative solutions to social issues.
