Get a qualification and gain the knowledge and skills to design residential and commercial building projects to completion under the supervision of a more experienced practitioner.

This qualification is designed for people intending to work as architectural technicians, and also provides recognition of knowledge and skills for those already working in the role.

Benefit from small class sizes and learn from experienced tutors with wide industry knowledge and strong relationships with the local construction industry and professional bodies. For those who have been out of a classroom for some time, numeracy, literacy and technology support is available.

The qualification will provide employers and consumers with the confidence that working drawings are produced that meet the requirements of New Zealand Building Act, Codes of Practice, and New Zealand and Australian Standards.

Flexible delivery allows you to combine work and study in this two-year programme and leads to further tertiary study at degree level in construction management, quantity surveying, architectural design or technology, or go straight into employment.

There is a labour shortage in the construction industry and multiple large construction projects in the region. Our graduates are in demand.
