How long can I stay in NZ after studying? 

After completing your studies in New Zealand, you may be eligible to stay and work in the country temporarily under a Post-Study Work Visa. It allows you to stay and work here for up to 3 years, depending on what you studied. 

You are eligible for a Post Study Work Visa if:

• you studied a degree level 7* or above qualification, or
• you studied a non-degree level 7 or below qualification, and your qualification is on the Qualifications Eligible for a Post Study Work Visa list

*A qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). NZQF qualifications are assigned a level between 1 and 10 based on how complex the learning for them is.
