The BSc (Hons) Business with Finance pathway is delivered by the Business School (formerly Cass), one of Europe’s leading business schools. Part of City, University of London, the Business School is ranked amongst the top 6 business schools in the UK (1).The Business with Finance pathway combines a business management degree with the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of finance.This degree is right for you if you want to pursue a career in the finance sector and you’re keen to apply a range of general management skills. The focus on finance makes you exceptionally well equipped to take your place in the finance operation of a large company or to work in the financial services sector.You will gain a sound understanding of the various elements of running a business and managing an organisation, with a thorough grounding in finance. You will learn about financial markets and the finance processes within an organisation, but can also understand topics related to management and strategy in the context of the finance sector.You will study introductory modules in a wide range of business subjects, such as accounting, marketing, operations management and human resources. You will gain a good grounding in economics and econometrics and also have an opportunity to pursue more specialist elective subjects which could cover areas such as asset management and mergers and acquisitions.The Business with Finance pathway will prepare you for a financial career in any large or medium-sized business, where the combination of management skills and financial understanding make you an invaluable asset.As the only business school in London to be assigned Champion status of the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative, we are best placed to train the next generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex demands faced by business and society in the 21st century. Our entire suite of undergraduate business management programmes have been created to ensure ethical, social, environmental, cultural, and economic considerations are central to your preparation as future leaders in business. During your time on the Business with Finance pathway, we support your professional and personal growth in a number of ways. As well as hosting a series of business networking events at our state-of-the art building, 2nd year students have the opportunity to mentor 1st year Business Management students and GCSE Mathematics pupils across London, ensuring you develop your communication and leadership skills throughout. The BSc (Hons) Business with Finance pathway is available as a three-year degree, or four-year degree for those who wish to take up a one-year work placement sandwich option or to take a sandwich year studying abroad. The four-year degree offers excellent opportunities to gain relevant work experience to prepare you for your career, and to make contacts in the world of business. You also have the option to apply for a study abroad sandwich year at one of our highly-respected partner institutions across the world. In an increasingly globalised business environment this is excellent preparation. There are six BSc Business Management degree pathways taught at the Business School: BSc Business Management, BSc Business with Finance, BSc Business with Marketing, BSc Business Management with Social Purpose, BSc Business Management, Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship and BSc International Business. At any time during the first-one-and-a-half years of the degree, students can switch to a different pathway, subject to the availability of places.
