MSEd Secondary Special Education-Students with Disabilities Generalist with Extensions in Secondary Education
Students With Disabilities 7-12 Generalist With Extensions in Secondary Education, MSEd: The 31 s.h. Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist with Extensions in Secondary Education program is designed for individuals who wish to teach students with disabilities on the secondary level in a variety of settings including subject-specific special education classes (mathematics, sciences, social studies, English, or languages other than English), in resource rooms or in supportive roles in inclusive programs as a consultant teacher or integrated co-teacher. Candidates who successfully complete this program will have the tools to teach all students in a range of environments and will have the appropriate content expertise to help ensure that all students are meeting the New York state learning standards. The content extension does not permit these individuals to perform as the teacher of record for grades 7-12 secondary education general education subject area classrooms.
