PhD in Clinical Psychology

Why do people do what they do? Psychologists study behavior and from your own experience, you know behavior is complicated! If you want to better understand yourself and others, psychology is for you.

We use biological, cognitive, developmental, social and personality perspectives to study why we do what we do. This training is useful in many ways to find success in clinical, forensic, corporate, research and educational settings.

The mission of the PhD program is to prepare students to become competent and highly skilled in the research and practice of clinical psychology. In emphasizing the integration of science and practice, the program adheres to a training approach consistent with the scientist-practitioner model. Students can seek advanced training in clinical child psychology or forensic psychology.
