PhD in Counseling

In our programs, you will acquire the professional skills to work with diverse populations in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling and addictions counseling. The Counseling programs prepare students to be culturally competent social justice counselors to work with diverse populations of all ages in the following four areas: clinical mental health counseling, addictions counseling, school counseling and student affairs/higher education. Our diverse group of faculty members engage in scholarly research and hold national leadership positions in professional associations, including the American Counseling Association (ACA). Note that all programs are available for part-time or full-time study. Information on each of these programs is below.

Our CACREP accredited PhD in Counseling program prepares individuals to work as faculty and administrators in colleges and universities, advanced clinicians and supervisors in mental health agencies and private practice, consultants, and school and agency leaders.
