PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology

Why do people do what they do? Psychologists study behavior and from your own experience, you know behavior is complicated! If you want to better understand yourself and others, psychology is for you.

We use biological, cognitive, developmental, social and personality perspectives to study why we do what we do. This training is useful in many ways to find success in clinical, forensic, corporate, research and educational settings.

The PhD program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Montclair follows the scientist-practitioner model, equally emphasizing the generation and application of psychological science to improve the workplace. Students will develop their research and analytical skills in concert with individual faculty members while also applying this knowledge through coursework, consulting, and experiential projects. The Montclair I/O program also has many unique offerings to service a new generation of doctoral students in the 21st century.
