Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
In our programs, you will acquire the professional skills to work with diverse populations in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling and addictions counseling. The Counseling programs prepare students to be culturally competent social justice counselors to work with diverse populations of all ages in the following four areas: clinical mental health counseling, addictions counseling, school counseling and student affairs/higher education. Our diverse group of faculty members engage in scholarly research and hold national leadership positions in professional associations, including the American Counseling Association (ACA). Note that all programs are available for part-time or full-time study. Information on each of these programs is below.
The master’s level courses in the 18-credit Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate (CADC) program fulfill the educational requirements set by the Addiction Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCBNJ) for CADC and LCADC eligibility. A bachelor’s degree is required to apply for this program. The Fast-Track CADC option allows students who have full-time jobs to complete the program in two semesters through both hybrid and online formats.
