Post-Master’s Educational Services Certification - School Counselor

In our programs, you will acquire the professional skills to work with diverse populations in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling and addictions counseling. The Counseling programs prepare students to be culturally competent social justice counselors to work with diverse populations of all ages in the following four areas: clinical mental health counseling, addictions counseling, school counseling and student affairs/higher education. Our diverse group of faculty members engage in scholarly research and hold national leadership positions in professional associations, including the American Counseling Association (ACA). Note that all programs are available for part-time or full-time study. Information on each of these programs is below.

The 18-21 credit School Counseling Certification program is designed to fulfill national standards for School Counselors, and the educational requirements of the New Jersey Department of Education for Certified School Counselors. Two semesters of field experience in a K-12 setting are included in this program. A master’s degree in counseling or clinical social work is required.
