Do you love working with numbers? Do you love the fact that numbers in themselves are a whole other language? Want to spend your day problem-solving and working with others? If so, being a math major might be perfect for you. This pathway is designed to meet Associate of Science Track 2 degree requirements with a concentration in Mathematics. This pre-major pathway is designed to prepare you to transfer at the junior-level into an mathematics or related program at a four-year college or university. In this program, you’ll learn how to use mathematical concepts to break down complicated problems into manageable pieces. You’ll build creative, exploratory, and lateral thinking in problem-solving as well as strong reasoning and analytical-thinking skills through math courses ranging from basic arithmetic to differential equations. Math skills are in high demand by today’s employers. Whether you want to work in banking, economics, business or education, a strong background in mathematics can prepare you for a variety of challenging career opportunities.
