MPH Public Health - Maternal and Child Health Policy and Leadership Concentration
Offering women and children the best care possible is critically important throughout and following the gestation period. At UAB, we can give you the skills you need to develop, implement, and evaluate innovative maternal and child health programs and policies. This program is not currently admitting students.
To give you the training you need, we carefully designed the MPH with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health to complement the separate MSN degree program, covering topics such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, and needs assessment. While your MSN curriculum will vary depending on your concentration, you'll be required to take core courses that include Translating Evidence in Practice, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Health Care Systems for Advanced Nursing Practice. We know you have a busy schedule, so if you choose to bolster your MSN with an MPH, your courses are available online, on campus, or through a blended format of the two. Our goal is to give you the skills you need to make a real difference in meeting the health-care needs of moms and their children across your community, the nation, and the world. If you are a nursing student interested in this coordinated degree, contact the School of Nursing Office of Student Success.
