I am Gayathri Senthilnathan, originally from Chennai, and the firstborn daughter in a family of women. Growing up in a household of women shaped my independence, resilience, and sense of responsibility from an early age.
I completed my schooling at Church Park Convent, followed by an undergraduate degree from JBAS College for Women. Driven by a desire to explore the world beyond academics and gain international exposure, I moved to London to pursue my Master’s degree at Brunel University London.
My professional journey began in the UK, where I worked as an Event Assistant with an event management company for two years while completing my postgraduate studies. This experience gave me valuable hands-on exposure to fast-paced work environments and taught me adaptability, teamwork, and time management. I also worked temporarily at a café alongside a close friend, an experience I genuinely enjoyed as it gave me a real taste of life, teamwork, and adaptability.
After receiving my Postgraduate Visa, I secured a role aligned with my academic background as a Project Coordinator, where I found a supportive work environment, inspiring colleagues, and meaningful opportunities to grow.

Beyond my professional life, I am a trained classical dancer and an Abacus gold medalist, which reflects my creativity and love for continuous learning. My journey so far has been one of exploration, growth, and self-discovery, and I look forward to building a future that continues to challenge and inspire me.
Why did you decide to study abroad?
It wasn’t a long, calculated decision; it happened quickly, and I trusted myself. I am happy that I made such a decision and moved abroad. The younger me did not even imagine leaving home and living alone without my family, but here I am. It is always better to try than to keep judging yourself.
What were your concerns about studying abroad?
To be honest, I wasn’t afraid when I decided to move abroad. I was filled more with excitement than fear. I felt mentally prepared before leaving home, although there was definitely a cultural adjustment; even small things like lifestyle differences inside the house were new to me.
One of my biggest emotional concerns was being away from my family during important years of my life. However, in terms of safety, I was fortunate to have a very kind and supportive landlady who took great care of me, which gave me a strong sense of comfort and security. Overall, I approached the experience with confidence and an open mind, ready to adapt and grow.
How did you come across Edvoy and how did it help you?
One of my friends recommended me to Edvoy. To put it into simple words, it was simple, easy, and peaceful. Edvoy took care of EVERYTHING. All you had to do was listen to them and provide the papers that were required. Everything will be done in the blink of an eye.
We had applied for a scholarship, but unfortunately, I was not one of the 6 people they (the university) were providing the scholarship.

What reasons led you to choose MSc International Business at Brunel University of London?
I always knew I wanted to pursue a degree in Business. After researching various options, I felt that MSc International Business offered the best academic value and global exposure, especially when studying in London. The course aligned well with my career goals and provided a strong understanding of international markets, strategy, and real-world business practices.
How was life as an international student in the UK?

To experience life, to experience success, and to experience different types of people from around the world, and to be the youngest in every table I was invited to at a young age.
While I missed family gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries, and close friends’ weddings, the journey taught me valuable lessons. Nothing meaningful comes easily, and the struggles shaped who I am today. Looking back, I am grateful for every challenge and proud of where I stand now.
What did you do after graduation?
After graduation, I did what most students do: I applied for jobs. Since I was already employed at the time, I initially struggled to give my full attention to job searching. However, during the winter of 2024, I decided to fully commit myself to the process. I left my part-time role and dedicated my time to applying consistently, attending interviews, and following up on applications. At the beginning of 2025, I received the offer for the role I am currently in, a truly rewarding start to the new year.
