COURSE OVERVIEW
The new MA in Sports Communication and Journalism offers a syllabus that combines a practical and academic study of contemporary professional communication, journalism and public relations in a sports-related context.
Studying this course will help you into a career as a sports communications professionals who can identify a strong story, develop its narrative, bring it to life with videography and still images by filming and editing the raw footage, and understand how to effectively distribute this content to an existing and potential fan-base.
The programme allows graduates to develop invaluable and desirable professional communications, journalism and digital media skills for careers in sports management, as well as creating a portfolio of work that can be shared with prospective employers in business, journalism, public relations, broadcasting, advertising and marketing.
SPORTS COMMUNICATION AND JOURNALISM EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to developing excellent oral and professional writing skills, improving your abilities with digital media and learning to present ideas in a range of formats, you will have opportunities to undertake work experience opportunities with major sporting organisations including Swansea City FC, The Ospreys and The Scarlets.
