BSc (Hons) Animal Biology
Why Animal Biology?
Our Animal Biology degree will give you the skills you need for a successful and rewarding career. You’ll learn in the field and lab as you explore local and global biological issues, studying subjects such as diversity, physiology, ecology, evolution and behaviour. With opportunities to gain experience in settings from zoos to schools, working with wildlife rangers, conservation groups and more, our graduates stand out from the competition. There are also opportunities to undertake international field studies (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details) and students have previously examined conservation in South Africa, ecology in the Swiss Alps and the environment in the Asian rainforest. You’ll draw on the expertise of lecturers who have been awarded for their teaching excellence and media work, and internationally recognised for their leading research in bioscience. You’ll also combine the latest scientific knowledge and contemporary research methods in our state-of-the-art laboratories.
