The student union is active in representing student interests both internally and externally. There are spaces for students to practice their faith, and individuals of all faiths are welcome. Students engage in campus life by creating clubs where peers can meet up, with over 200 student clubs. The university was rated number 1 in the UK for student satisfaction, student voice, and academic support in the National Student Survey in 2022, so campus life is enriching in many ways. UWL is also one of the most sustainable universities in the UK, having previously taken part in a government-funded decarbonisation project that reduced carbon emissions and encouraged students to behave in eco-friendly ways.

The University of West London provides on-campus accommodation to its students. Options include dormitory-style rooms with shared facilities or self-contained apartments with private kitchens and bathrooms. The rooms come fully furnished with all the essentials.

Off-campus options include private rented accommodation and homestays. UWL has partnerships with several private student accommodation providers, which offer a range of options from shared apartments to private studios. A homestay program is popular because it allows students to live with a local family to improve their English language skills and integrate into British culture.

The West London Campus has two sites in Ealing and Brentford, connected by a free, 10-minute shuttle bus service. The Berkshire Institute for Health at Fountain House is in Reading town centre. Ealing, Brentford, and Reading all offer a high quality of life and good employment opportunities as they are well-connected to the center of London. Students enjoy the Southern England location because there are fantastic transport links, lots of nightlife opportunities, and shopping facilities to enjoy.
