It’s no secret that Canada is one of the most popular destinations for education. The country’s education system is ranked among the best in the world, and its universities are renowned for their research excellence. With today’s uncertainties, however, it would be understandable for a person living abroad to doubt the safety of living in Canada.

Canada has a diverse population and a high standard of living, with a well-earned reputation for its high-quality education program and its welcoming, multicultural society. This makes the Great White North an attractive place to live and study.

Is Canada still a safe place to study for international students, however? What benefits can you experience while you are there? This in-depth article will provide you with all the knowledge you need to make an informed decision.

Is Canada safe?

Canadians have a lot to be proud of when it comes to safety; in fact, it is often considered one of the safest countries in the world.

A survey was recently conducted by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE); the survey was issued to approximately 40,000 international students at 67 institutions throughout the country.

The results show that the top competitive advantage of Canada is its reputation as a safe and secure country (79%), followed closely by the quality of its education system (69%).

Among the other factors contributing to Canada's safety are its strict firearms laws, its highly developed healthcare system, and its diversity. The country fosters a sense of community and togetherness, which leads to a feeling of acceptance, safety, and security.

With a diverse population, beautiful landscapes, well-developed infrastructure, education and healthcare systems, it is no wonder that Canada has become a popular choice for international students.

Why choose Canada?

There are many reasons to choose Canada as a place to live and study. The country has a rich history and culture, and is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Canada is also a very diverse country with plenty of opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

For students interested in studying abroad, Canada has plenty to offer. Below is a more detailed list of everything that makes Canada great for international students.

Canada is safe

As one of the safest countries in the world, Canada currently ranks fourth, sitting in good company behind Switzerland, Denmark, and Norway.

With a population of over 38 million, Canada is highly respected for its diplomatic role, commitment to peacekeeping, and respect for people's rights and diversity. On top of that, crime rates are among the lowest, emergency assistance is readily available, and response time is quick.

Nonetheless, it is important to pay attention to any signs of danger when walking alone, going out and about, or when attending large events, just as you would in any other country.

Canada is diverse

Canada is a welcoming country, and its diversity is one of its greatest strengths. From its inception, Canada has been a haven for people from all corners of the world, even being named as the most multicultural country in the world.

The country has its own official policy of multiculturalism, which embraces and encourages cultural diversity in an open effort to increase, respect, and celebrate it across the country. This policy emphasizes the intrinsic value of all cultures and solidifies the commitment of the Canadian government to multiculturalism.

The introduction of this policy further fostered Canadians' positive attitude toward diversity, allowing interested migrants and international students to feel welcome when studying in Canada. In this way, diversity ensures the safety of people who wish to come to Canada, making it a safe country for people of all cultures.

Canada has incredible natural wonders

There is no doubt that the Land of the North is vast, offering some of the most amazing natural beauty on earth. Mountain ranges, forests, and rugged coastlines make Canada a sought-after nature destination for anyone who visits.

The Rocky Mountains are located in the west of Canada; they offer some of the best hiking and camping in North America. The peaks reach altitudes of over 4,000 meters, and the scenery is stunning.

In the summer, the lakes are full of paddlers and anglers, while in winter, the slopes are popular with skiers and snowboarders. Check out the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, home to the world's highest tides, the rarest whales, semi-precious minerals, and amazing fossil discoveries.

The forests of Canada are some of the most diverse in the world. There are rainforests, temperate rainforests, and boreal forests, all of which are home to a variety of wildlife. The forests are also popular with hikers and mountain bikers, who can explore the trails that snake through the trees.

Canada's coastline is rugged and beautiful. There are countless coves and inlets to explore, and the ocean is a great place to go kayaking or fishing. The towns and villages along the coast are also worth a visit, as they offer a glimpse into traditional Canadian life.

All children in Canada have access to free public education up until the completion of high school. Canadian colleges and universities provide students with professional and technical education, as well as connections to other postsecondary institutions.

According to the National Statistics Office of Canada, over 380,000 students are enrolled in Canada's higher education institutions, with over 621,000 international students holding study permits aimed at different levels of study in the country. Canada offers quality student life

As a welcoming country that offers quality student life to international students, Canada is one of the best destinations for overseas education. Each year, a massive number of international students are drawn to Canada because of its lively cities, diverse cultures, high standard of living, and better career opportunities in the future.

In terms of cost of living, tuition fees are generally lower than those in other major international destinations.

A year of on-campus housing costs about CA$3,000 (US$2,271) in major cities, and a year of private share accommodation costs about CA$8,400 (US$6,361) plus bills. There are often lower costs associated with university housing, and some universities offer meal plans.

The cost of living varies considerably by location and lifestyle, with large cities, such as Vancouver and Toronto, generally being more costly.
