Hello! My name is Anuradha Singh, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration / MSBA at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Dronacharya College of Engineering in Gurugram, India. My professional experience spans roles in consulting, business development, and team leadership. Outside of work and studies, I enjoy mentoring and engaging in design thinking activities.
Why did you decide to study abroad?
I decided to study abroad because I was feeling stagnant in my career and wanted to explore new opportunities for growth. While I had gained valuable professional experience, I believed that an MBA plus an MSBA would help me broaden my skill set, especially in areas like business analytics and strategic consulting. And it really has broadened my arena for growth. Studying abroad was also important to gain a global perspective, and network with professionals from diverse backgrounds.

What were your concerns about studying abroad?
Like many international students, I had concerns about finances, safety, and adapting to a new culture. To be frank, when I first arrived in Boston, I was intimidated by the tall buildings and the fast-paced lifestyle. It felt overwhelming at first, and I wasn’t sure how I would adjust.
Financially, I was particularly worried about managing tuition and living expenses, but I was fortunate to secure a fellowship that helped me become financially independent. This was a huge relief and allowed me to focus on my studies and personal growth.
As for safety and culture, Boston has been an incredibly welcoming city. The people here are kind, supportive, and always willing to help. Whether it’s navigating public transportation, finding the best coffee spots, or just needing someone to talk to, I’ve found that Bostonians are genuinely warm and approachable.
I fell in love with the city and its vibrant community. The blend of history, innovation, and diversity in Boston makes it a truly special place to live and study.
How did you come across Edvoy and how did it help you?
I was introduced to Edvoy through my brother, Yash, who is also a master’s student at Sacred Heart University.
From the very beginning, my counsellor, Kiran (a special shout out to her) has been an incredible mentor and support throughout the entire process.
She is empathetic, knowledgeable, and has excellent decision-making skills. Kiran is the perfect example of what a great consultant should be – patient, persistent, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure her students succeed.
Thanks to her guidance and support, I was able to secure both a scholarship and a fellowship at Suffolk University, which made a significant difference in my journey as an international student here.

I highly recommend Edvoy to anyone considering studying abroad, especially because of the personalised support and expertise they offer. Kiran and the Edvoy team truly made the entire process seamless and stress-free, and I’m incredibly grateful for their help.

What reasons led you to choose Suffolk University?
I chose Suffolk University for several reasons. First, its location in Boston provides unparalleled access to knowledge spillovers and networking opportunities. Second, the university offers a diverse and effective dual-degree program that aligns perfectly with my career goals. Being in the heart of Boston has allowed me to connect with industry leaders, participate in innovative projects, and gain hands-on experience.
How is life as an international student in the US?
I’ve always aspired to be in a position where I can make impactful choices and drive meaningful change. But life as an international student in the US has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Currently, I serve as the Vice President of the Graduate Student Association at Suffolk University, a position I earned through elections. This role has taught me the importance of networking, active listening, and taking the initiative to create positive changes within the university community.
In addition to this, I am a Graduate Fellow with the Management and Entrepreneurship Department, where I help facilitate networking and growth events for undergraduates. Balancing academics, part-time work, and extracurricular activities keeps me on my toes, but it’s a deeply fulfilling experience.
Every day is a reminder to myself: “The harder you work, the luckier you get.” This mindset has not only helped me navigate the challenges of being an international student but has also allowed me to seize opportunities that align with my passion for leadership and making a difference.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to leverage my MBA and professional experience to pursue a career in management consulting or business strategy, with a focus on sustainability and healthcare innovation. Long-term, I hope to take on leadership roles where I can mentor others, contribute to global business growth and give back to society. Always remember to give back.

Any advice or tips for other students who want to study abroad?
My advice to students considering studying abroad is to be proactive and open-minded.
Start planning early, especially when it comes to finances and applications. Don’t be afraid to ask for help – whether it’s from counsellors, professors or peers. Networking is key, because network is your net worth and learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. So make an effort to connect with people and participate in campus activities.
