Highlights
Sacred Heart University is a higher-education establishment located in Fairfield, Connecticut, just 55 miles north of New York City. The campus was founded in 1963 with just 200 students. Today, the university runs various program-based courses at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels for around 9,000 students.
In recent years, the university has received awards and acknowledgements as a happy and positive place to study. Sacred Heart was named one of the top colleges in America by Forbes and College Magazine ranked its campus in the top 10 on the East Coast.
With over 80 courses on offer across six different colleges, students have plenty of choices at varying levels at Sacred Heart.
Whilst living on campus, students can socialise and engage with like-minded peers. Sacred Heart encourages learning and discussion to continue outside of lectures and seminars, and this often occurs in halls and informal locations.
Also, with eh SHUcard, you can move freely around the campus. The card allows you to enter other buildings and meet friends in alternative halls of residence.
Students attending Sacred Heart have a range of housing options available both on and off campus.
First, in freshman year, students can live in one of the six available halls of residence. Then, students can return to campus for their sophomore year in one of seven available living spaces. These facilities are located on and off campus and each has dedicated staff available to contact.
However, for postgraduate students living off campus, the university has a range of resources available. Through the official Jump Off Campus site, you can find student-friendly accommodation in nearby towns. These include Bridgeport and Turnbull.
